History and Background

Suan Saiyok Resort was founded in 1983 and has long been recognized as one of the historic resorts of Kanchanaburi, standing alongside the province for more than 42 years. Anyone visiting Kanchanaburi has likely heard its name or stopped by at least once. Surrounded by nature along the Kwae Noi River and located beside the Krasae Bridge, an important historical landmark of the Death Railway, the resort is more than just accommodation. It is a destination that blends stories of the past with travel experiences in one place. Getting here is easy, as guests can take a train directly from Bangkok and arrive right at the resort entrance via the Thonburi–Nam Tok railway line, within walking distance of Krasae Bridge and the local souvenir market.

Suan Saiyok Co., Ltd. is operated by Ekachat Sunthornhattaya, known in the industry as Chamchoy, one of the key tourism entrepreneurs in Kanchanaburi. Under his leadership, the resort has gained nationwide recognition, especially during long holiday periods when rooms are often fully booked in advance.

Suan Saiyok Resort is famous not only for its top ranked scenic views but also for its variety of activities such as nature rafting, live evening music, and the popular photo experience of riding the Death Railway for only 2 THB. The short ride begins at the station in front of the resort and slowly travels to Krasae Cave station in less than five minutes, allowing visitors to capture memorable photos before walking back along the railway and exploring the cave. It is a brief yet unforgettable experience that cannot be found anywhere else in Thailand.
